【摘要】:HDIismostlyusedinthepreparationofpaints.Forthelasttenyears,theuseofisocyanatesandtheirindustrialneedshavebeeninconstantgrowth.Diisocyanatesandpolyisocyanatesareirritantstoskin,eyes,andmucousmembranes.Theyarerecognizedtocauserespiratoryallergicsensitization,asthmaticbronchitis,andacuterespiratoryintoxication(4-7).TheAmericanConferenceofGovernmentalIndustrialHygienists(ACGIH)hasadoptedathresholdlimitvalue-timeweightedaverage(TLV-TWA)of0.005ppm(V)or0.034mg/m3(8).TheOccupationalSafetyx0026;HealthAdministrationoftheU.S.DepartmentofLabor(OSHA)hasnotlistedapermissibleexposurelimit(PEL)forHDI(9).DuetoitslowLODandlowrequiredvolume(15L),thistestmethodiswellsuitedformonitoringofrespiratoryandotherproblemsrelatedtodiisocyanatesandpolyisocyanates.Itsshortsamplingtimesarecompatiblewiththedurationofmanyindustrialprocesses,anditslowdetectionlimitwiththeconcentrationsoftenfoundintheworkingarea.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofgaseoushexamethylenediisocyanate(HDI)inairsamplescollectedfromworkplaceandambientatmospheres.Themethoddescribedinthistestmethodcollectsseparatefractions.Onefractionwillbedominatedbyvapor,andtheotherfractionwillbedominatedbyaerosol.Itisnotknownatthepresenttimewhetherthisrepresentsaperfectseparationofvaporandaerosol,andinanycase,therearenotseparateexposurestandardsforvaporandaerosol.Therefore,incomparingtheresultsforisocyanateagainstastandard,resultsfromthetwofractionsshouldbecombinedtogiveasingletotalvalue.Thereasonforsplittingthesampleintotwofractionsistoincreaseanalyticsensitivityforthevaporfractionandalsotogivethehygienistorventilationengineersomeinformationconcerningthelikelystateoftheisocyanatespecies.Theanalysesofthetwofractionsaredifferent,andareprovidedinseparate,linked,standardstoavoidconfusion.Thistestmethodisprincipallyusedtodetermineshorttermexposure(15min)ofHDIinworkplaceenvironmentsforpersonalmonitoringorinambientair.Theanalysisoftheaerosolfractionisperformedseparately,asdescribedinTestMethodD6561.1.2Differentialairsamplingisperformedwithasegregatingdevice.Thevaporfractioniscollectedonaglassfiberfilter(GFF)impregnatedwith9-(N-methylaminomethyl)anthracene(MAMA).1.3Theanalysisofthegaseousfractionisperformedwithahighperformanceliquidchromatograph(HPLC)equippedwithultraviolet(UV)andfluorescencedetectors.1.4Therangeofapplicationofthistestmethod,usingUVandfluorescencedetectorsbothconnectedinserial,hasbeenvalidatedfrom0.006to1.12gofmonomericHDI/2.0mLofdesorptionsolution,whichcorrespondstoconcentrationsequivalentto0.0004to0.075mg/m3ofHDIbasedona15-Lairsample.Thoseconcentrationscorrespondtoarangeofvaporphaseconcentrationsfrom0.06ppb(V)to11ppb(V)andcovertheestablishedthresholdlimitvalue(TLV)valueof5ppb(V).1.5ThequantificationlimitforthemonomericHDI,usingtheUVdetection,hasbeenestablishedas0.012g/2mLofdesorptionsolutionandas0.008g/2mL,usingthefluorescencedetector.Theselimitscorrespondto0.0008mg/m3and0.0005mg/m3respectivelyforanairsampledvolumeof15L.Thesevaluesareequaltotentimesthestandarddeviation(SD)obtainedfromtenmeasurementscarriedoutonastandardsolutionincontactwiththeGFF,whoseconcentrationof0.02g/2mLisclosetotheexpecteddetectionlimit.Thisstandar......
