【摘要】:Intra-oralmouthprotectorshavebeenfoundusableandeffectiveinallphysicalsportsactivitieswheremouthhazardexists.Considerableevidenceindicatesthattheuseofmouthprotectorsreducesforceswhichcauseconcussions,neckinjuries,andjawfractures.21.1Thispracticecoversthecareanduseofintraoralmouthprotectorsasprotectiveequipmentforsports.1.2Mouthprotectors,asdescribedherein,refertoeitherTypeI,TypeII,orTypeIIImouthprotectorsasclassifiedinSection3.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
