本部分代替ＧＢ／Ｔ４７０１．４—１９８４和ＧＢ／Ｔ４７０１．５—１９８４。本部分规定了亚砷酸盐亚硝酸盐滴定法和高碘酸盐光度法测定钛铁中锰的含量。本部分适用于钛铁中锰含量的测定。其中亚砷酸盐亚硝酸盐滴定法测定范围（质量分数）：１．００％～４．００％；高碘酸盐光度法测定范围（质量分数）：０．１０％～１．５０％。本部分是对ＧＢ／Ｔ４７０１．４—１９８４《钛铁化学分析方法 过硫酸盐亚砷酸盐容量法测定锰量》和ＧＢ／Ｔ４７０１．５—１９８４《钛铁化学分析方法 高碘酸盐光度法测定锰量》国家标准的整合修订。本部分与ＧＢ／Ｔ４７０１．４—１９８４、ＧＢ／Ｔ４７０１．５—１９８４相比较，主要做了以下修改：
———试液分取量由２０．００ｍＬ 修改为１０．００ｍＬ 和２０．００ｍＬ；
———校准曲线绘制移取锰标准溶液量由０，１．００，２．５０，５．００，７．５０，１０．００，１２．５０，１５．００ｍＬ 修改为０，１．００ｍＬ，２．００ｍＬ，４．００ｍＬ，６．００ｍＬ，８．００ｍＬ。
